Wow! An incredible and super exciting thing happened this week, as The Fire Fox was shortlisted for Oscar’s Book Prize 2022! This wonderful, annual award was founded in memory of Oscar Ashton, who sadly died from an undetected heart condition at just three and a half. The prize aims to “reward the brilliant creativity of early-years literature” and to “highlight the importance of reading with children”. For The Fire Fox to be shortlisted, especially as it’s my and Stef Murphy’s debut, feels incredibly special and is testament I think to the huge care and love that went into the creation of the book by our Two Hoots team and everyone involved.
